Have you ever wondered about the intricacies of the various relations within the Scratch world? For example, what's the deal with the Little Bird and the Man who live together? And what's the relationship between the Little Bird and the Elephant? And The Clown? The Ghost? I'm considering developing a slight off-shoot from Scratch that gives more insight into the Scratch world, and the connection between the various characters in that world.

Sorry for absence of comics over the last week or so, I was on a small vacation. I guess I should've let you know. How heartless of me. I'm sorry! Please put down the cheese grater, and let's talk about this. I'm back, and I only have eyes for you. You, and the new banner I put up in honour of the Holiday Season. Have you seen it?

Also, I am considering a few changes. I am considering putting Scratch Comics on Hiatus for January, and attempting a second "February LiveJournal Project" in ... uh... FEBRUARY. Let me know your thoughts on this. I'd like to be churning out more Cyrius per week, and get some animations finished, so maybe this will be a way to do that? I need to know what you all think. (NOTE: scritchscratch is the name of the SITE, and Scratch is the name of one of the COMICS on the site....there apparently is some confusion about this. This comic is a continuation of the preceding comic where Frederic was launched into orbit, but it is in fact re-written from it's original dialogue, which had been written before the "space" comic. Thanks for all your great mail everyone! In regards to the "rejects" page....I will give no hints....but the link is hidden on the site somehwere. Actually, I will tell you this....it is not hidden in any of the actual "comics" pages. As for merch, I've gotten a few letters about prints and t-shirts, etc...I will launch merch soon, but probably not until we are into the new year. So you can be sporting your ironic and clever scratch and cyrius t-shirts in the spring and summer!

So, as I'm sure you realize, I LOVE Hallowe'en. And no, I don't mean the fact that I get to dress up like a priest, I mean the good-natured part of Hallowe'en. The kids having fun, dressing up, and just the memories that I have from my childhood and the activities at school and such. I also love the general feel and "vibe" of October. And most importantly this time of year is my favourite time to draw comics. I love drawing Hallowe'eny stuffs!

RSS, new banner, and Twitter......

So, a couple things I wanted to tell you about......

First off, I made an animated Halloweeny banner for scritchscratch.com:

Secondly, I've got RSS hooked up for the site now as well. But here's how I set it up: There are currently three RSS feeds available on the site, one for NEWS, one for SCRATCH COMICS, and one for CYRIUS. The reason there are three different feeds is so that you can pick and choose what you want in your feed. Maybe you only like a certain comic, and don't want the news updates, well, no prob! Maybe you want it all! That's fine too!

Also, if you are into twitter, you can also follow scritchscratch comics there as well now. There is a button link on the main page as well.

I guess that's it for now!

I'm working on two animations which will be up soon. One for Cyrius, and a Scratch one for Halloween.

So, today my bestest buddy joey, (who does the webcomic a softer world ) helped me hook up some new coding for the Scratch Comics portion of the site. Now it will be "php" instead of html, which makes my life a WHOLE lot easier. (thanks joey!) But just a warning, the FLJP portion is disabled just for the time being. By Monday we will have everything up and running smoothly, including Cyrius in php too! Sadly this is much less exciting for everyone that is not joey or i. You will see no difference whatsoever. Sigh. This is the nature of code, I suppose.

In other news... you are not gonna believe this..... remember the first Cyrius comic? Well, today my friend Kqantu sent me THIS LINK. I swear that I created that comic without knowing about that! Seriously! What are the odds of that? That is just insane. Also, check out the "Learn" page in the Cyrius section to get your brain-veins pumpin'! Haha. But seriously, there are just some fun facts there. And soon... QUIZES! (all for fun, I swear. I'm not TRYING to make you learn, really.

Hallowe'en is coming. Have you heard? I am excited. It is my favourite. This month will have a few ghosts. And probably some zombies. Consider yourself warned. If my death was unavoidable, that's how I would wanna go. Zombie ravaging. People would talk about you forever.

It is October now, and I am READY. Bring on the CANDY. I love this time of year, the changing of the leaves, the carving of pumpkins, the watching of scary movies, the drinking of cider, the tormenting from ghosts.

It is Monday. New Scratch!

So, we had this Brita water filter that attaches to our tap, but every time I would turn on the water it would shoot off into the sink and water would spray directly into my eye. Everytime. I hated it. So I looking in the manual and found a number to call if "your unit doesn't fit on your tap". I call, they were somewhat nice, but the point is, a week or so later I got a kit in the mail, on their dime. It was filled with a bunch of different adapters for the tap. We went through them, picked the right one, and BAM. PROBLEM SOLVED. Just goes to show you, when you phone a company, they want you to be happy so they will often send you free stuff to rectify the problem! No I can get back to filling my water balloons with filtered water.

In other news, I have decided that corn on the cob, when eaten once a year, or, at least, infrequently, is SIMPLY THE BEST THING EVER. Let me paint the picture for you: fresh corn on the cob, boiled, melted butter, and some salt. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. DEElicious. When I was a kid I used to eat it like a typewriter. You know, "chomp-chomp-chomp-chomp-chomp-DING!" rotate and repeat. Those were the days. Now, I just eat it like a ravenous wolf.

Hello World!

Sooo......  this begins the blogity blog of scritchity scratch.   The website launched today, Monday Sept 22, 2008, and I'm quite excited!  Please feel free to go on over and peruse the site and check out all the archived scratch comics!

This is definitely representative of the fact that I have been MIA from doing the comic thing for awhile.  I am psyched to be back at the drawing board!  Literally!  Ha!
